"Ilona Vajs"

The Ilona Weiss Synagogue is named after the mother of the president of the Arie Livne Center, who was burned by the Nazis in the Auschwitz camp.

It is the first religious building, built after seven decades, in which Jews will be able to dedicate themselves to prayer, study the holy scriptures, and it is also open to visitors.
Before the Second World War, there were four synagogues on the territory of the city of Banja Luka, three Sephardic and one Ashkenazi. The last one was destroyed in 1944.
